The River is an album for anyone who wants to get lost in worship - an outpouring of spontaneous worship that has grown out of times of ‘prophetic worship’ at the Detling Conference. Seeking to reveal the heart of the Father through music and song, these times developed out of afternoon worship sessions where delegates were invited to simply rest and immerse themselves in the Holy Spirit. They have become some of the most popular worship times at the conference, a place where people have found rest, where they come to be still with the Lord and listen to Him. The River is performed by the Detling band, lead by Russ Hughes who is Worship Director for the Detling Conference and also an established worship writer in his own right. Though much of the music on The River is spontaneous, the Detling worship team have been performing together for several years and as well as being very gifted individuals, are a very tight band.
