|Title: Power Play: Pressing Toward The Goal - Listening CD|
Subtitle: Brentwood Kids Music - A Musical For Children
Release date: November 2004
Created by Dave Clark, Bria Slaughter and Tami Pate.
Length: 35 Minutes
The setting is an inline hockey rink filled with elementary age kids from a local church in a city called Orangeville. The kids have been taken on a field trip to illustrate the Apostle Paul's words in Philippians about pressing on toward the goal regardless of seemingly impossible circumstances.
The cast includes Jacob, who dreams of playing hockey for his middle school team, the Orangeville Crushers, and Hat Trick, a confident kid who got his nickname for being a high scorer in their community hockey league. Madelyn, who just wants to be popular and Molly who seems to have a firm grasp on all details no matter how insignificant. Mr. Adams, the teacher who loves God, kids and hockey who joins forces with Mrs. Peterson, the kids long time teacher who is just a little wacky in her style of teaching and dress, but she loves the kids and they love her - crazy and all.
The musical recognizes the many struggles kids face today and compares the inspiring true story about the 1980 US Olympic hockey team who overcame obstacles to achieve their Gold Medal goal with the story of how Apostle Paul overcame even prison to deliver the message of life in Christ. Like Paul, even when you are"one man down" in life and there's a"power play" against you, just keep your eyes on Christ because He is the only goal that matters. He alone will be the POWER play in your life. to reveal timely answers and relevant solutions.
