A Smoky Mountain Christmas: The Homecoming is a humorous and heart-warming story that will strike a familiar chord with anyone who has ever spent Christmas with their extended family. The Musical numbers are meaningful and memorable, and the warm, acoustic bluegrass accompaniment lends a real homespun flavor to this charming story of family and faith.
It's Christmas and Grace's son, Michael, is coming home for a Christmas family reunion at the Oak Hill Bed & Breakfast in the heart of the Smoky Mountains, where his family spent their Christmases when he was a child. Michael, now an oral surgeon living in Charlotte, has little in common these days with his sister and her well-meaning, but irritatingly simple husband, Jimmy. As the family tries to celebrate Christmas, things begin to fall apart and Grace's dream of having her family together again for Christmas begins to fade. When an unexpected event causes everyone to pull together for a common cause, they come to realize that family is more important than feelings and that the Child born on Christmas is more than a baby in a manger. He's the Prince of Peace who came, not only to save, but to heal and restore all of our relationships.
